The Accidental Tourist (1988) - Macon Leary, already passive and unemotional, withdraws further from life when his son is killed. A quirky family and quirky Geena Davis force him to interact against his will.

Should I put the elbow macaroni under "E" for elbow or "M" for macaroni?

What about "P" for pasta?

Cool Hand Luke (1967) - Luke commits a penny-ante crime and is sent to work on a chain gang. The ultimate non-conformist movie.

What we've got here is failure to communicate.

Crossing Delancey (1988) - what other movie has a pickle salesman for the romantic lead? (review)

The Dead Zone (1983) - Christopher Walken awakens from a coma to find that touching people isn't as much fun as it used to be. (review)

I've played some sane people. It's just that people don't remember them as well. -- Christopher Walken

Get Shorty (1995) - Forget "How to Win Friends and Influence People" -- this is the real primer on getting people to do what you want.

You must bring something heavy to the deal.
I do ... me.

Harold and Maude (1971) - Who says romance is dead? Okay, it's pretty old, but dead?

Well, I think I should mention, Candy, Harold does have his little eccentric moments.

Lawrence of Arabia (1962) - Peter O'Toole plays the charismatic leader, who believes he's invulnerable to attack because he's been chosen by God. (review soundtrack info)

The trick ... is not minding that it hurts.

Sex, Lies & Videotape (1989) - Examines many sex and relationship questions, among them, can you be intimate with someone if you refuse to risk hurting them? (review)

You're wearing red. I'm wearing red. Coincidence? I don't think so.

They send you here for life ... that's exactly what they take.

Sling Blade (1996) - I guess I just like the way he talks ... The sentimental story of Carl, an recently released from a mental institution for the criminally insane, who befriends a young boy and the boy's widowed mother. (review)

Doyle says, besides sending the po-lice, you might want to send an am-ba-lance, or a hearst.

Suicide Kings (1997) - 5 college kids decide to kidnap a Mafia don and hold him for ransom. Too bad they picked Christopher Walken. (Too bad for them.)

(Do you have "walkenitis"? Click here to find out!)

Valley Girl (1983) - Finally a real romance -- enjoy this re-telling of Romeo and Juliet, only Romeo's from Hollywood and Juliet's from the San Fernando Valley. Nicholas Cage's first starring role -- like maybe his best. Based on the Frank Zappa song.

Oh, wow, you mean you have to be invited. Well that explains it.
What?
Why everyone is dressed weird ...

What's Eating Gilbert Grape? (1993) - Where do you draw the line between responsibility to loved ones that need you and your own need to grow? Leonardo DiCaprio's best (and first) performance.

Why will I take care of it?
Gilbert.
Hmmm?
Cause you're Gilbert.
Cause I'm Gilbert.

Who Am I This Time? (1981) - Christopher Walken plays a tongue-tied hardware store clerk who transforms on stage when he rehearses the part of Stanley in A Streetcar Named Desire. Susan Sarandon plays the local librarian who is smitten by him, or is it his alter ego?

The Young Poisoner's Handbook(1995) -

Same old hackneyed story:

Boy loses girl.
Boy poisons family and co-workers.
Boy keeps detailed notes on dosage and ill effects.
